This remarkable occasion celebrated the achievements of 98 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNAs), and Certified Medical Technicians (CMTs) from the graduating classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024.

With over 70 attendees—including healthcare professionals, local leaders, and community members—the event highlighted the critical role of CNAs in healthcare, provided networking opportunities, and laid the groundwork for advancing workforce development initiatives.

Event Highlights:

  • Recognition Ceremony: Honoring graduates for their dedication and achievements in healthcare.

  • Panel Discussions: Insights from community leaders and healthcare employers on workforce trends and opportunities.

  • Keynote Speech: A powerful narrative of perseverance and success by Anthony Featherstone, Executive Director, Workforce Solutions.

  • Networking Sessions: Connecting graduates with employers, mentors, and community leaders.

Distinguished Guests:

Prominent figures such as Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich, Council President Kate Stewart, and County Councilmember Gabe Albornoz joined in expressing their support and admiration for the healthcare workforce.

Recommendations and Future Steps:

  1. Policy Advocacy: Push for fair wages, benefits, and equitable opportunities for healthcare workers.

  2. Continued Education: Develop advanced clinical training, technology integration, and mentorship programs for CNAs.

  3. Ongoing Networking: Host quarterly events to sustain and grow professional connections within the healthcare sector.

This event underscored AMSS's commitment to empowering healthcare heroes and fostering community collaboration. The journey of these graduates exemplifies resilience, and their contributions will continue to enrich the healthcare landscape.

AMSS sincerely thanks to all sponsors, partners, and participants for making this event successful. Together, we look forward to creating more opportunities for professional growth and community impact.
